Before I started doing Airbnb I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in staying in my small flat in the suburbs of London, especially with the amount of choice there is in the city.
So, the number of bookings I have received and range of reasons for people staying has come as quite a surprise.
Here are some of the reasons guests have stayed with me.
- to work - jobs have ranged from administrators to buskers, nurses to journalists and opera singers to toy designers
- to visit their London head office for work
- for training courses
- to watch sporting events
- to compete in sporting events, such as, half marathons
- to go to concerts
- for funerals
- to visit people in hospital
- for hospital appointments
- to be a tourist locally and in central London
- whilst looking for somewhere permanent to live
- whilst waiting for the start date of their next tenancy
- whilst work is being done on their home nearby
- whilst waiting for their next live-in job to start
- for job interviews
- to go to the airport
- to attend birthday parties
- to visit friends and family who live in the area
- to go to yoga centres nearby
- to have a break from their house share
- for weddings
- for nostalgia, as they used to live in the area
And, since their initial reason
- they have stayed with me before 😃 It's lovely to welcome back repeat visitors!
